West Essex was founded in 1921 and is based in the north east of London. We have three main sports at the club which are cricket, football and table tennis.

Four more of our Junior Cricketers have been recognised for their contribution to the club by receiving Jack Petchey Achievement Awards. The winners are Charlie Corsan, Alfie Chapman ,Adam Jones and Junaid Chowdhary. Congratulations to all four of you! Certificates will be presented at our Annual Presentation Evening on Friday 26th September.

Damien Brandy (Ex Pro for Leicestershire) is running a cricket coaching week at Epping Foresters CC in association with Epping Forest District Council, for all local children between the ages of 7 and 14 during the first week of the summer holidays. For more information go to www.brandytime.com. Parents can download a booking form and fill in the relevant sections before sending to the address on the form. The event has run successfully for the last two years and is always popular. Prizes are also given at the end of the week.

The 2nd X1 last season were recognised as the most sporting and best disciplined 2nd X1 in the whole Essex League of 40 clubs. It just shows that you can play the game in the right spirit and be successful at the same time! A note of congratulations to Robbie and his team.

Senior Cricket Nets - Two nets have been booked for Tuesday nights at St Aubyns School Sports Hall, Starting on the 5th February 2008. Start time is 8:20pm and the nets are both booked for 90 minutes. The cost of a session will be £4 for senior members and £3 for under 18's.

The Junior Cricket section are pleased to announce two more Jack Petchey Achievement Award winners. The achievers for the current quarter are Sean Jordan and Nick Roberts from the Under 13 age group. Sean and Nick have both performed extremely well in our Friday night 6-A-Side indoor competition. Sean has also been playing in the Under 15 B team. Their awards have helped us to purchase some new club caps and to sponsor Eddie Corsan on his UKCC Level 1 coaching course.

Congratulations to the West Essex Vets football team. They recently beat Sungate away 2-1 and are through to the league cup semi-finals which will be played on the 9th February 2008.
